Name: Jean Grey
Muse: Sophie Turner
Job: Medical Doctor, specializing in care of mutants and those with special abilities
Housing: Jean is presently renting a one-bedroom apartment in a historical building near the center of town. She doesn't have a lot of time to spend there, but it's warm and cozy, which is exactly what she needs after a long day. Building Livingroom Kitchen Bedroom
Backstory: Jean Grey was born in Westchester, New York, the youngest of several siblings and daughter to a history professor and stay-at-home mom. Her childhood was idyllic until Jean's powers manifested at 10 years old, when she saw her best friend struck by a car and killed. In that moment of extreme trauma, she established a telepathic bond and was in the girl's mind when she died. Jean's mind was nearly dragged along with her friend to the "other side", and it was the Phoenix Force that felt Jean's power and broke the connection. From that point on, Jean has shared a unique and powerful link with the Phoenix Force.
The trauma of this ordeal left Jean catatonic for some time; but with the aid of another mutant (Charles Xavier in canon, though this can be retconned if needed), Jean eventually gained control of herself and her powers. She grew to become a well-adjusted teenager, bright, passionate, and empathetic. It's hard not to be, when from a young age you can see into the minds of all around you, knowing not only their triumphs, but struggles. She excelled in school at SHH and became passionate about the rights of mutants and those with special abilities, believing strongly in the hope of a peaceful coexistence with humanity. As Jean grew so too did her powers, developing both telekinesis and telepathy. Unfortunately, her connection with the Phoenix Force grew too, fueling her with its light and power and attracting those who wished to manipulate it for themselves. Brainwashed by another mutant who made her believe she loved him, Jean became consumed and corrupted. Her power nearly destroyed all around her and Jean sacrificed herself to save those she loved. But being linked to a force of life and creation has its perks, and Jean was eventually resurrected. She has since come to terms with the power inside her and reclaimed the true Jean Grey, but the Phoenix remains with her always.
Following SHH, Jean went on to pursue a degree in Genetics with a Pre-Med concentration at Metro College. Though she chose to keep as "normal" of a path as possible, she remained a strong advocate for mutant and super rights, organizing "super/human" alliances and several demonstrations for unity. Jean attended Medical School at Columbia University, eventually completing a residency and becoming Lead Fellow at Metro General Hospital. Dr. Jean Grey earned acclaim for her work with patients with "rare genetic abnormalities". Those patients sprouting wings or whose migraines materialized just before an ability to phase through matter, or whose metallic skin made typical procedures impossible, finally had a doctor who might help them. Not that Metro General would or could spell out that Dr. Jean Grey was a Mutant/Super specialist - but by word of mouth or serendipity, they always found her.
Her medical training has not allowed Jean much time for a personal life, but she has maintained a close relationship with many of those who live in Leftover, New York - old friends and new - and considers them her family. At the completion of her fellowship just a few months ago, Jean opted to move to Leftover so that she can openly practice medicine helping mutants and those with special abilities. She has not left NYC completely behind, however. Jean maintains privileges at Metro General and is often called in to consult on "unusual cases".
Jean continues to be a strong and vocal advocate for the rights of mutants and supers, and the hope of peaceful coexistence with humankind. And when New York or the world is threatened, she suits up with the practising heroes around her to defend it once more.
Powers: Jean is an Omega-level Mutant with powers of Telepathy and Telekinesis.
Telekinesis: Jean can move objects and affect them on a molecular level. She has the power to levitate herself and others, allowing for some level of flight. She can also create protective force fields and energy blasts. Her telekinesis is strong enough to affect objects in the earth's orbit.
Telepathy: Jean's telepathy allows her to read, influence, control, and communicate with the minds of others (including animals of high-intelligence) and to generate telepathic force blasts that can stun or kill. She can also telepathically take away or control people's bodily functions, senses, and even powers. Along with her medical training, Jean can additionally aid in healing psychological damage through telepathic therapy.
Phoenix: The Phoenix Force is a cosmic entity - the "prime universal force of life" and all that "has or ever will exist in all realities." Fire and life incarnate, the Phoenix Force has the power to create or destroy any part of the universe; it can rewrite futures and realities or deny them entirely. The Phoenix Force is bonded with Jean, she is its earthly avatar. As the Phoenix, Jean's powers increase on a cosmic scale. But she has all of that under control.
Anything you'd like to add?
I utilize comic canon for Jean's childhood and power set (though there's been so much retconning and re-conning of how the Phoenix Force works, I've tried to streamline it as much as possible). I've adopted movie canon in making Jean a medical doctor and vocal advocate for mutant/super rights and peace.
When it comes to Jean's personal life, friendship, romance, heroic team-ups and other, I will leave this open-ended. I am open to and eager for any and all plotting :)

Anything you'd like to add? As many of you may know, my schedule is crazy busy right now. Which also means I presently SUCK at RPing, and I'm the first to admit it. Between really stressful job demands and planning a wedding, my free time is super limited. But I miss it a lot, and I will do my best to make this work. If Jean is absent from a particular thread or plot, it can be presumed she's been called in for a consult at Metropolitan Hospital.
